Since 2013, enrollment in L&S has grown by 24 percent. Our internationally recognized faculty don’t teach just L&S’s thousands of students; every single undergraduate enrolled in Berkeley’s professional colleges comes to L&S to take key courses. In the fall of 2019, an astonishing 28 percent of our L&S students were the first in their families to attend college. With state funding flat, we rely on philanthropic investment to continue driving economic mobility for our students and supporting research creativity for the world.
