Congratulations, Class of 2021!

June 1, 2021

Congratulations to the Class of 2021! This year’s graduation was one-of-a-kind as more than 6,400 UC Berkeley graduates participated in a five-day-long procession ceremony at the Greek Theatre. Wally Adeyemo, deputy secretary of the Treasury and L&S alumnus, addressed the graduating class virtually as the 2021 keynote speaker

At the College of Letters & Science, departments affirmed the dynamic and diverse spirit of L&S with creative commencement activities that joyfully (and safely) commemorated their graduates. Some departments hosted virtual ceremonies, posted online yearbooks and digital keepsakes, and some shared a virtual toast to their graduates. No matter the format or platform, faculty members took special care to honor the resilience and determination of this year’s students and scholars.

Although there were many memorable moments this year, we wanted to share one in particular: in the Philosophy department, faculty members came together virtually to help recreate a departmental tradition and graduation classic, “Pomp & Circumstance.” Watch here and enjoy!
