I am associate adjunct professor in International and Area Studies and the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at UC Berkeley. My research interests encompass divergent developmental paths in China's transitional economies and the socio-economic transformations associated with China's urbanization process. The Huang program has provided extraordinary opportunities for our students, not only to master the Chinese language, but to learn invaluable professional and cultural proficiencies, while developing as scholars and global citizens. I feel proud to be part of this adventure.
