Joined the L&S Office of Undergraduate Advising in:
What is your approach to advising?
I strive to be a resource for students in order to empower and assist them as they work to reach their ambitions.
M.S. Counseling, emphasis in Career Counseling, California State University, Sacramento
B.S. Child Development, California State University, Fresno
How did you get here?
After receiving my Bachelor's Degree, I moved to Sacramento to start my graduate program. Throughout my time in graduate school, I worked and interned in roles where I was able to provide academic advising, mentoring, and career counseling to students. I interned at the Career Center here at UC Berkeley during my last year of grad school and fell in love with this campus. After graduating, I worked as a major advisor for American Studies and Religious Studies. I am excited to now be a part of the wonderful team of L&S.
What's your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part is when students have "aha" moments of realization or insight!
I'm originally from the Central Valley. I love coffee, dogs, traveling, dancing, trying out new restaurants, and photography (although I'm still fairly amateur).
What advice do you have for L&S students in general?
Make use of the many resources that the university has to offer. Also, enjoy the journey and make your time at Cal memorable!!
Note: Trained in Undocu-Ally about current policies, laws, historical context, challenges for undocumented students.
