Overall, the University expects students to make progress toward a degree and to do so in good academic standing. Beyond that ultimate expectation, it is up to you as a student to formulate your own personal goals and determine what you would like to achieve at Berkeley. Each student will define success differently: for some it may be a specific GPA, or an honors project, or their chosen major. Sometimes students even need to take a pause from Berkeley.
