UC Berkeley leads the world in the use of digital technology on campus by making course webcasts and podcasts widely available to the Cal community and beyond. Users can access live and on-demand webcasts of courses and events in streaming video and audio. Course favorites such as Astronomy 10, Physics 10, Psychology 1, History 5, Philosophy 7, and dozens more are only a click away.

As part of its commitment to the dissemination of knowledge for the public benefit, UC Berkeley also partnered with Google last September to become the first university in the world with a Google Video (now YouTube) Website.

Accessing the Lectures

Students and visitors may access these lectures in multiple ways, free of charge:

The Webcast.Berkeley site provides easy access to webcasts and podcasts of many Cal courses. You may watch, listen or subscribe to RSS feed of current semester courses, or look up the archive of past courses going back to Fall 2001 (see upper right pulldown menu).

iTunes Berkeley is Apple’s most popular university site. Launched on Cal Day 2005, it drew more than 400,000 listeners during its first week and continues to draw millions every year. Courses are organized by subject area. You may listen to and download courses on your computer or MP3 player. You may also subscribe to a course.

YouTube: More than 250 hours of content are available to the public through this site, including courses, seminars and various other campus events.
