Important Information for all applicants

TRANSFERRED COURSEWORK:

Transfer students should drop in during CalSO or by the start of classes to be sure that their courses will be accepted as prerequisites for the major. Although your community college catalog may have indicated "UC credit" for a course, that does not necessarily mean that the course has been accepted for use as a prerequisite for the major. Prospective transfers: see the articulation agreement for your community college to find out what courses have been approved as prerequisites for the media studies major.

Berkeley students should complete as many prerequisites as possible at Berkeley. Although it may occasionally be necessary or convenient to take courses in community college over the summer, we urge intended majors to make it a priority to complete these courses at the UC level.
