American Studies Events
American Studies International Consortium
June 19-21 - Bancroft Hotel.
The American Studies International Consortium was founded to encourage the development of a multidisciplinary body of work that reaches beyond the traditional study of American language and literature to engage wider intellectual areas including material culture, art history, the built environment, and political and social theory.
The Consortium’s members include faculty from the University of California Berkeley, University of California Davis, Brown University, University of Bologna, Yale University, John F. Kennedy Institute in Berlin, and Université Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III.
This year’s Berkeley-hosted conference, “The United States in the World/The World in the United States,” seeks to investigate methods of recontextualizing the place of American Studies in the global arena.
Presentations begin at 9:00 am on Thursday, June 19th at the Bancroft Hotel, 2680 Bancroft Way (across the street from Kroeber Hall) in the hotel’s Steilberg Room. Please join us!
PLEASE CHECK HERE AGAIN SOON FOR CONFERENCE UPDATES.
