SBES (Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences) Alliance Schools. The Alliance is a consortium of 23 institutions across the United States—including UC Berkeley—currently supported by the National Science Foundation in their efforts to broaden the participation of underrepresented students into Social Science Ph.D. programs. Its member institutions provide a variety of services for prospective students including summer research programs, one-on-one assistance in the graduate application process, academic advisement, and funding support.
