Framing the Questions, Berkeley's Online Journal of Arts & Humanities Research, Publishes New EditionJanuary 24, 2002 Framing the Questions, the online journal of Arts and Humanities
research at Berkeley The interest of Framing the Questions is to pose questions that go to the very core of our human condition: questions of belief and moral values, and questions that assess the past as a way of understanding our present and future. These questions serve as a frame on which knowledge is built. The journal provides a window into research in the arts and humanities at UC Berkeley. It focuses on particular examples, but in the aggregate gives us a "frame" or lens on trends that are reshaping, in significant ways, this crucial area of higher education. Articles from the first volume of Framing the Questions are also available on the site. The latter includes over fifteen essays on areas of "Culture, Globalization, and the Political World," "New Interactions with Science and Technology," "Affirming the Power of Human Narratives," and "Practicing the Art and Producing Knowledge" by scholars such as Jodi Halpern, Trinh T. Minh-ha, and Candace Falk. Launched with a handsome hard copy edition in Spring of 2000, Framing the Questions will continue to be published online three times a year. |
