Goldman Professor George Akerlof Wins the 2001 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences
Professor George Akerlof shares the prize with two other economists for their individual acheivements in defining and understanding markets with asymmetric information. This is the second Nobel Prize for the Economics Department in two years. (October 11, 2001)

Carlos Bustamante and Tim White Selected by CNN/TIME as "America's Best in Science and Medicine"
Labeled by CNN/TIME as the "Protein Wizard" and the "Man Hunter," Professors Carlos Bustamante and Tim White have been recognized for their contributions to science in the fields of molecular mechanics and paleoanthropology. (October 1, 2001)
