We just sent out the final reminder to users who are still using their
old CalMail password. Enclosed is a copy. Remember that the change is
happening on September 30th.

Thanks,

Bernie

----------
As of September 30th, you will need to use your CalNet passphrase to
log in to your CalMail email account. You can start using it now so
that you can be sure to avoid problems on September 30th.

If your password is the same as your CalNet passphrase, you do not
need to make any changes.

To change your email client (i.e. Thunderbird, Outlook, Eudora, Mail,
etc.) to use your CalNet passphrase, please follow one of these
procedures. This change needs to be made on everything that you use
to access your account (i.e. computers and mobile devices):

NOTE: This change pertains only to your password, the CalMail login
remains the same.

   * If you enter your password each time you access your account, you
will simply need to enter the CalNet passphrase instead for both
receiving (IMAP/POP) and sending (SMTP) email.

   * If your email client does not ask for a password when you first
access it, the password is saved within it. We have guides in the
Knowledge Base to assist you. Go to http://kb.berkeley.edu/ and enter
your email client in the search box.

   * If you have configured an external third party service, such as
Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo to check your CalMail account on your behalf,
to preserve the security of your CalNet passphrase we recommend that
you instead begin forwarding your CalMail email to your third party
account. Enter "forwarding" in the search box of the Knowledge Base
at http://kb.berkeley.edu/ for assistance.

If you have already changed your email client's configuration to use
your CalNet passphrase, please ensure that you have done so on all of
your computers and on any mobile devices you may use to access
CalMail.

CalMail passwords will no longer work as of September 30th, so please
update your mail client's settings prior to that day. If you do
experience any problems with the change, please contact CalMail
