We've received a number of inquiries from departmental account users who
can no longer access their departmental accounts from the web since the
switch to CalNet/CAS authentication.
There is a legacy URL which can be used to temporarily access accounts
using the old style CalMail password:
http://calmail.berkeley.edu/login.html
Departmental accounts were originally slated to old departmental ID
numbers. With the switch to CalNet authentication, it was necessary to
associate these accounts with an actual CalNet ID. Departmental
accounts are now slated to two IDs; the actual owner and a responsible
authorizer. Messages have been sent to the older accounts, requesting
the IDs so we could change them over to the new style.
If your departmental account has not been switched over, please write to
eligible_at_berkeley.edu from the departmental account and give us the two
IDs.
Once the account has been switched, here are the instructions for the
owners on allowing other users to access the account:
1. Go to Manage Your Account on the CalMail Home Page and authenticate.
2. You will see a list of all the accounts you own, click on the
departmental account and login.
3. You will see Authorization on the left hand blue box.
4. Click Add New Authorizations.
5. Follow the instructions on the page for adding email address, CalNet
ID, etc.
Thanks,
Bernie
