Transition in IST's Technology Acquisition Office

Dear friends and colleagues,

After more than 25 years at UC (mostly in IST), I am retiring. My
last day of work will be Tuesday, September 6, 2005.

To make a smooth transition, IST has hired my successor in advance of
my departure. On Tuesday this week, David Willson joined IST's
Associate Vice Chancellor's Office (AVCO) as Manager-Designate, IST
Strategic Technology Acquisition. Dave's previous position was at
the Bank of America, where he managed a supply chain team that
focused on midrange infrastructure software.

I am happy to have Dave on board and look forward to turning over my
responsibilities to him over the next six weeks or so. I hope you
will give Dave the collegial support you have provided to me for so
many years.
