Hey, webnet!

I need your advice. Can I learn graphic design from a book? From a class?

I feel very weak when it comes to visual look and feel of websites--what
colors look good with other colors, etc. Apparently pink and purple is no
longer mod?

What do you suggest--any wonderful books, classes, websites, or gurus?
