Hi Fellow Writers and Editors,
I'm here in the Educational Technology Services dept (ETS) on a contract job for four months. My duties have consisted thus
far of writing some articles for e-Berkeley and IST's BC&C and creating fresh content for a new departmental website as well
as some smaller projects.
My director has asked me to craft a proposal for a career position. I've got some ideas but I'm looking for some additional
insight -- I'd really like to stay on here but know that it will be challenging for my director to sell the need for a
communications position to administration. What are some duties that might fall outside of the writing baliwick slightly
but might be helpful in selling a position, for instance? One idea my director suggested was being in charge of showing
visitors around (he figures that occupies 10% of his time).
Any tidbits of advice will be happily received.
thanks,
Wendy
