The next Webnet meeting i:
Tuesday, 24 July
Noon - 1:30 PM
3110 Etcheverry Hall
Speakers: Members of the XML Project team, Workstation Support Services
Topic: Using XML: is it for you?
Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a hot topic these days. You've
probably read many articles extolling the wonderful things we'll all
be doing with XML very soon. But how does it actually work? What is
it good for and how easy is it to use?
At the Webnet meeting next Tuesday, the XML Project Team from
Workstation Support Services will be discussing XML and how to best
make use of this hot but complex technology.
The XML team will start off by discussing the basics of XML, what it
is, what the best uses for it are, and how (or if) to get started
using it. They will demonstrate a small application they developed
for the CalAgenda service using Java and XML. It will showcase both
the possibilities and problems involved in XML-based software
development. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
