Hey,

I have had experience with Digital Signage.

I company I worked for used a company called WireSpring (Fort
Lauderdale, FL) using their FireCast (Linux based) software.
http://www.wirespring.com/

Working with their software requires a computer (with Firecast loaded
on it) per Plasma screen (at least at the time).

Firecast lets you mange many "signs" remotely. It is a very powerful
piece of software and can be configured to meet many "digital signage" needs.

It's worth reading about. It has a per client licensing structure.

The other solution I worked with were these digital content player
(DV66) units. http://www.technovision.com/dv66.html They took a
Compact Flash (CF) card and would play content continuously. This
solution must be hand managed though. ie. upload files to a CF card
and plug it in to the DV66. If a change in content is required you
must upload new files to a CF card and "swap" the cards (at least
this is how we did it.)

Hope this helps.
