Cliff Yee of IST noted today that the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
(TSM) client application, used with the UC Backup service
<http://ucbackup.berkeley.edu:9180/>, is currently believed to be
incompatible with Apple's Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.

An update to the TSM client for Leopard compatibility is expected
to be made available in 1Q 2008 (i.e. within the January to March
2008 period). Cliff asks that "If you are a UCBackup customer please
wait until the supported TSM client is released before you upgrade
[to Leopard]."

P.S. Cliff's original message to the MAGNet mailing list appears
below. This is to share this information with a broader audience,
with my apologies to those who do not use or support users of Mac OS
X.

- MacOS X 10.5 users.
Please note that TSM 5.4.x client will not support MacOS X 10.5.
MacOS X 10.5 is a major release from Apple which may break
TSM functionality. If you are a UCBackup customer please wait
until the supported TSM client is released before you upgrade.
The clients can be downloaded when they are released (ETA Q1 08) from:
