As many of you are aware, a major new release of the Symantec client
security software for Windows is due out this fall. The software, to be
called Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP), is based on recent
acquisitions of other products by Symantec and is a fundamentally
different software product than the previous Symantec Client Security Suite.
In System and Network Security (SNS) we have been testing the beta
releases of this new software. Based on our testing there will be a fair
amount of migration work involved in switching to the new product, and
we would like to get a group of testers/evaluators who support Symantec
installations on campus to help us with our assessment. We are
especially interested in representation from departments that run
management consoles for the current Symantec product or manage large or
customized Symantec installations.
If you are interested in seeing the beta software and can spare some
time to help evaluate options for Symantec migration, please let me
know. I'm looking to set up a meeting for next week so send me the names
of possible attendees and the best times for meeting (if you're not on
Calagenda). Thanks and let me know if you have any other questions,
