Subject: [UC-MCCA] DST update- please forward to your campus

Hello all,

Would you please forward this email to your campus?

You may have already received correspondence from another source at
Microsoft, but I wanted to be certain you had all the current links
regarding the DST issue.

In August of 2005 the United States Congress passed the Energy Policy Act,
which changes the dates of both the start and end of daylight saving time
(DST). When this law goes into effect in 2007, DST will start three weeks
earlier (2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March) and will end one week
later (2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November) than what had
traditionally occurred.

This web site summarizes the updates and tools that Microsoft is developing
for its customers to address the DST change.

This Support WebCast will help you understand how Microsoft Exchange Server
and Microsoft Office Outlook are approaching this transition. It will
provide more details about which versions of Exchange and Outlook versions
are affected; and also talks about the requirements and considerations you
should be aware of when installing the fixes.

Exchange Rebasing Tools should be available very soon. It has not been
posted as of this writing. Keep tabs on

Windows 2000 Update for DST Changes

There is a FREE tool described in this KB article
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=914387, and there is a webcast covering
the topic at this site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930688/en-us.

There is also an Extended Hotfix available for Windows 2000 that cost
$4,000:

1. It is packaged and available for deployment from Microsoft Update or WSUS

2. It provides and uninstall option just like any other patch.

Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions,

Taylor
