I can tell you from when I had the same problem my self that you should try
and by new ones and trade up from the ones you have . Apc offers a
discount on new units. And they will take the old batteries and dispose of
them safely for free that way.

Subject: [Micronet] Advice Needed on APC Uninterruptable Power Supplies

I have 4 different APC UPSs. They haven't been used in a long time, probably
3 years, so I wasn't expecting them to be ready to use. I plugged them in
today hoping that I'd be able to use the APC agent software to get some idea
of the state of the batteries.

To my surprise, all 4 UPSs are acting totally dead, and don't respond to
button pushes or queries from the monitoring software. Again, I knew the
batteries would be dead but I expected the electronics inside, when hooked
up to wall power, would be able to function.

I was going to decide whether to replace the batteries but now I'm not sure
the UPSs are working at all.
Would you risk buying replacement batteries or would you just send them to
Excess and Salvage?

Thanks for any advice.

Cordially,
