Printer pooling software?

Hi -

I'm starting to think about setting up an instructional computer lab at a
field station
in Plumas County.

The current idea is to use a wireless LAN to
connect all the computers, since it would be fairly easy to dismantle in
order to use the room
for other purposes.

I think one of the major problems will be printing. I think the easiest
solution would be to have
a print server hard-wired to the LAN, with several identical printers
connected to it. Workstations
would send print jobs to the server, which would assign them to an
available printer.

This would really simplify printer management, since a workstation would
only have to be configured
for one printer running off a single server.

Is such printer pooling software available? If so, any recommendations?

This would be a Windows installation, and whatever solution would have to
be fairly "bullet-proof",
since on-site software support there is minimal (not that I mind traveling
up there to fix things ...).

Thanks,.
