Hello Folks,
I've two power users who have the same set-up (WinXp sp2, much ram, same
Eudora etc.); they also share <inboxes> with a lot of messages in them.
They both complain about hanging that takes place when they try to interact
with the inbox. Either opening the mailbox, reading messages or purging
those messages (takes a lot of time) .
What I've done, beyond moving from different Eudora versions is:
1.) Increase frequency of checking for messages (to address SMTP time-outs).
2.) Rebuilt .ini file with ([CTRL] + [SHIFT]).
3.) Delete local imap folders for resync.
4.) Change back-ground task idle setting from 20 seconds to 1 second.
We have used Eudora versions 6.1.x - 7.x with no luck. When I tell them it
is wise to have as little messages as possible in the mailbox I am reminded
by them it is impossible to sort their inboxes because it takes so long to
read/sync/purge-delete messages.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Regards,
David
