Hi Cathy and all,
This is a topic I am very interested in. Over the last couple of years,
along with some other staff folks, I took Bob Glushko's Document
Engineering class and Alex Milowski's XML Technologies class, which
started out as a lab along with Document Engineering but then evolved
into a separate class. These are both SIMS classes, but Document
Engineering was a summer version for UC Staff, based on the semester
class that Bob teaches.
After Alex's class, I continued to work on a set of web pages using
Cocoon. I've pretty much shifted from using Cocoon, because I seemed to
be the only one using it, because the documentation was not that
coherent, and because I was hoping to find a lighter weight approach.
A few weeks ago I started a project using XSL-FO to generate pdf
reports. It is awesome. I can't understand why more people aren't using
this.
You probably already know about these resources, but some of the most
helpful information on the web is the XSL mailing list, hosted by
Mulberry Technologies, and Jeni Tennison's web site.

Glad to hear you came up with this idea for collaborating.
Thanks,
Carol
