Carbon Copy Cloner is easy to use and works great for this purpose.
Mike Bombich, the creator of Carbon Copy Cloner and other great (and
free) Mac utilities, has a website with detailed instructions on drive
imaging options for OS X: http://www.bombich.com. You can use Carbon
Copy Cloner both to create disk images and to copy them to other
systems.
