Communication and Network Services uses Option 1: A Centrally Maintained
Validation Routine and we love it!
We have the validation routines integrated directly into our CNS shopping
cart for immediate chart-string validation upon entry by the campus customer.
We also have a batch script that we run periodically to take all of the
COAs in our system and make sure they are still valid chart-strings (as
funds can close or run out of money).
