Does anyone have a rough idea of how many likenesses we have for Mathworks?
Would a Master license agreement and pricing agreement be worth the time to work on?

We recently were informed by The MathWorks that fixed volume pricing for new licenses will no longer be available starting January 1, 2005. This means that the cost of new licenses will increase significantly.
Because of their late notification about this price change, The Mathworks is allowing us to place one additional order in January 2005 under the current fixed pricing model. If you plan on purchasing new licenses for The Mathworks products in 2005 and you want to guarantee that your licenses will be priced under the current rates, you must submit your order to Software Distribution by January 20, 2005, at 5:00 pm.
The current pricing is posted at:

After January 20th, Software Distribution will have a small reserve of certain products which will be available at the current fixed volume pricing. Once this reserve has been depleted, all purchases for new licenses will be sold at the standard academic rates, which are higher. Departments should not rely on this reserve for additional licenses they expect to need. Orders for new licenses may be placed at:

Please note that this change in pricing will not affect the cost of maintenance on existing licenses -only the purchase of new licenses.
