Colleagues,
As you may have heard, UCB and IBM have concluded an excellent purchasing
agreement. The new program Web site will soon be available, but the terms
and conditions of the contract are already in place. Several UCB
organizations have concluded purchases at very favorable terms. Presently
there is an excellent offer available through next Friday, December 10,
that exceeds the normal terms of the contract.
BAS has recently put together multiple orders from across 6 departments
for IBM laptops and desktops, which together represents a combined
purchase of over $50,000. This makes other campus departments
eligible for additional discounting above our standard 40% discount under
the terms of our strategic agreement with IBM. IBM has provided us with
additional discounts on two selected models only, one desktop PC and one
