Our dean is getting an error every time he tries to read his calmail...
"Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'top.frames.0.document"is null or not an
object"

And the line in MS Scrip[t editor that is pointed to reads...
"<script language="JavaScript">top.frames[0].document.location =
'navigate.wssr"

However, this is not the only time it fails like this; I've seen it on
other pages as well. A page I use to test the error is java.sun.com. When
viewing the page, I get a Jscript runtime error: 'mc3 is undefined' the
complete line in Script editor is
"if (document.all) (mc3.style.visibility='visible';})

The only thing non-standard about this laptop is that I upgraded it from XP
home to XP Pro. It's a Sharp MM20

What I've tried:
1. Uninstallng IE as a Windows component and reinstalling:
Result- still displaying the same error.
2. Changing the advanced settings in Tools-Options-Security
Result- still no changes. I'll try this one again though because
I'm trying to go a change at a time to keep track of the results.
3. Disabling (in stages) Active Content in Internet Explorer as detailed
in MS Knowledge Base Article 154036
Result: The error stops, but then email cannot be sent from Calmail.

Any ideas from people? Until the problem is solved, I'm having him use
Netscape.
Thanks for any advice.
Bill Gross
