RSS feeds are also available by going to http://cns.berkeley.edu and
clicking "more news" (on the left) and then selecting either
ucb.net.announce or ucb.voice.announce.
I am not sure who the "relevant parties" are to which you are referring,
but I interpreted Rusty's question as being "is there a registry that
acts as a 'list of lists' for important IT information?" Do you know of
a URL that contains such a list? Perhaps this list could be reflected
to Micronet every month or two? I can think of several lists, but I am
sure I am missing some:
ucb-security
unix-sysadmin
micronet
magnet
pcsystems
webnet
ucb-net-announce
ucb-voice-announce
There are also some USENET-only mechanisms:
ucb.uclink.announce
ucb.computing.announce (set up at the request of Jon Kuroda a while
back, but not very active of late)
What I would like to see implemented is someting along the lines of
MIT's 3-DOWN page (http://is3down.mit.edu/fcgi-bin/3down), which
combines central systems, data & voice networks, physical plant
operations (including power shutdowns which are _very_ important for IT
folks), library, etc. I am not sure how it works, but it appears to use
an email mechanism for updates. However, a set of RSS feeds might work
also. Any thoughts about how we might bring all of this information
together and who might be able to do it?
