Operating system = ???
A Windows 2000 user recently ran some Windows Updates, and
the printer disappeared. Couldn't add, as the Print Spooler wasn't
running.
Couldn't start the service, either -- it gave an error.
To make a lllooooong story (trying all sorts of
stopping/starting services, looking for bad queued jobs, wiping away
drivers, etc.) short, I copied C:\i386\SPOOLSV.EX_ to
C:\WINNT\system32.exe (which didn't exist there). All fixed. Go
figure.
