Run the "Check your network connection" tool on the UCLink website
(http://uclink.berkeley.edu:20000/cgi-bin/check_dns.pl)--from what
you describe this is likely a problem caused by an incorrectly set up
name server at your Internet Service Provider, and the UCLink website
will confirm that.
