If you have DSL with SBC, you can use their nation wide dial-up numbers
with your DSL username and password. I think they charge $.05/min for out
of home area connections.
Many ISP's will activate you instantly. I have signed up for service
before leaving and cancelled service when I returned and payed the one
month charge.
