Here's an item we just added to our internal knowledge base. It might be
related.

Eudora 5.x Bug:
Outgoing mail from Eudora 5.x formatted as "Plain and Styled" with an
attachment where the recipient is an IMAP user, will result in a "garbled"
appearing email if the recipient is using Eudora, but only if the
attachment is binary.
If the attachment is text, the recipient will see the attachment text, but
not the message text of the email.
Solution: Don't choose "Plain and Styled", but "Styled" instead.
