Hi
I've just replaced an old NT4 server which was acting as a BDC for the
domain. When I installed the replacement, a Win2000 server, I added the
computer to the domain as a Backup Domain Controller in Server manager. I
could have added it as a plain old server, but didn't think there'd be any
problems. It's been about an hour now, and so far everything is smooth.
As I understand it, Win2000 servers can't function as BDCs in an NT 4
environment (at least not without some effort) because replication doesn't
work the same in the two formats, but I was wondering if there is anything
unexpected that may pop up as a result on my PDC down the line as a result
of my action.
Thanks for any advice or warnings
