Here is an updated (3/4/02) product list for the Sun matching grant
program that ends on 4/19/02. Below is a copy of the original
announcement.
=====================
Recently, Sun Microsystems announced a matching grant program for
university "desktop equipment used in student academic or research
laboratories." Below is a copy of the announcement and guidelines.
Attached is a copy of the eligible products and list prices. This is
an updated list that replaces the one that Sun circulated when the
program was first announced.
For approved requests, a department can pay list price for a piece of
equipment and receive another of the same.
The grant program ends on 4/19/02, but requests should be submitted
earlier. There is a limited amount of equipment available under this
program; early requests will get priority.
There are certain requirements and a multi-step process for these
grants. Read the instructions carefully.

February 1, 2002
Sun Microsystems has a long history of working closely with higher
education institutions. In a collaborative effort, Sun is prepared
to make a significant investment in academic and/or research lab
environments that are used by students at educational institutions.
This investment will be in the form of matching grants for desktop
equipment used in student academic or research laboratories. Sun
invites the U. S. educational institutions to apply for this matching
grant (please see attached pages for more details).
The matching grant period is from February 1 to April 19, 2002,
however, these matching grants are limited and will be processed on a
first-come, first-served basis.
In addition to this program Sun's ScholarPAC program offers low cost
and no cost software licensing to educational institutions
(http://www.sun.com/edu/scholar).
If you are interested in having your educational institution take
advantage of this, please access our website at
http://www.sun.com/edu/matchinggrant/. We look forward to the
opportunity to work with you in the coming months and encourage you
to take advantage of this matching grant program.
Warm regards,
Joe Hartley
