    Dear Micronet folks,

I don't know if I've sent this message out before and I just missed the
response, but when using 56k modems and setting up a pool of dial-in
modems, I've heard that there is a difference between the 56k modem you
use in your computer vs. one that is used in a modem pool.

In otherwords if you buy two identical 56k v.90 modems from the store
put one in one computer and configure it as a client and then put the
other in the other computer and configure it to answer as a host, the
highest speed attainable will only be 33.6 kbps.

Is this true? If so, where does one purchase a 56k host modem? Is this
    the correct terminology?

    Thanks!
