Hi Roy & Magnet,
All of you have heard that Mike Carver is leaving.
Some of you may not have known that CCRS/Hardware Support was moved
out of the Scholar's Workstation and into DOCS February of this year.
With the campus budget issues, I am reviewing the Hardware Support
service (business process, financials, structure, etc). And I'm happy
to hear first hand from the campus how they find Hardware Support to
be an essential service that provides added value. And certainly,
listening to the needs of the campus is one of our top priorities.
With Mike's departure, we are looking at short term ways to fill in
the gap of his absence. We will send out more information on that as
it becomes available.
We are also planning a going away party for Mike August 1 to give him
a proper Bon Voyage.
I am freely seeking your input on the Hardware Support Service. What
do you like? What services do you use? What would you like it
improved? What services might you want expanded? You can send
