Guy,
I've had mixed results with Migration assistant myself. When it
works, it's great, when it doesn't, it's a hellacious cleanup that
has ranged from fixing permissions on many of the files to other
minor problems, there's also the "X" factor if you are migrating
files that have been passed down since OS9 and some of those cross
over and cause problems so I've since stopped using it. I usually
just copy over the user folder from the old computer to an external
drive (in the case of setting up the Air) or used a firewire cable
and target mode, set up the new one as if brand new with a fresh user
folder then copy over the contents of the old user folder into the
new one. Sometimes you have to make adjustments, but overall, it's
cleaner and mostly trouble-free.
Hope this helps as an opinion goes.
