----------
You are receiving this message because you own a mailing list on the
CalMail system. Over the next few weeks, we will be making changes
which will affect your list.

The application which currently runs the mailing lists, Majordomo,
will be replaced with Mailman. The new mailing list system has a
number of new features, including:

   * Complete web-based mailing list management interface integrated
into CalMail's existing "Manage Your Account" system

   * Web-based moderation interface

   * Ability to create an admin or moderator password which can be
shared with others to delegate mailing list tasks

   * Automated processing of bounce messages from bad addresses

We are currently testing migration of lists to Mailman. While the
migration is intended to be seamless, we will keep you informed of
any developments, as well as inform you as to the date of migration
for the production mailing lists.

Once Mailman is in place, you will be able to handle mailing list
administration and moderation requests entirely through the CalMail
web interface; the previous process of sending commands through email
will no longer be necessary. As we approach the roll-out, we will be
providing documentation on the administration interface.

To help us with the migration of the lists, we request that you
review your lists and delete ones which are no longer necessary. To
do this, please go to the CalMail Home Page, click on Manage Your
Mailing List in the left hand quick links, and log in. Once you have
logged in, you will see links for viewing and deleting your lists.

Thank you for your assistance and we will be sending further
communication as necessary. If you have any questions or concerns,
please send a message to <consult_at_berkeley.edu>.
