Hello all,

Technology Acquisition & Sales has received many calls from campus
faculty and staff interested in acquiring the new Apple iPhone.

At this time, the iPhone is not available for sale through corporate
or business accounts. Therefore, the iPhone is not available as a
purchase/service plan option through IST's Technology Acquisition &
Sales unit (including Cellular Devices & Services and The Scholar's
Workstation Computer Store). IST will eventually acquire iPhones for
testing purposes, however, at this time, there is no support option
on campus. We will keep you informed as we learn more from Apple and
AT&T.

For personal purchase only, iPhones are available at Apple retail
stores, the Apple retail store online, and AT&T retail stores.
Educational discounts are not available.

Faculty and staff who intend to purchase the phone themselves and
then transfer the service to their existing or a new UC Berkeley
corporate account, should be on notice that this option is not
available, nor is there an estimated timeframe.

Let me know if you have any questions.
