You might try saving the image as a different file type - JPG or TIFF
for example - Word may be misinterpreting the colors when it comes to
printing time.

This might also have to do with something trying to color-correct a
non-existent color problem. That is, try to reset your image and the
printer driver so that it uses "Auto" settings as much as possible -
ColorSync turned off, maybe use the printer's automatic color
management, etc. If you "save as" in Photoshop, you may also be able
to strip any embedded ColorSync profiles.

Anyone else, please feel free to correct me if you think I am wrong.
It's been awhile since I've run into this problem...
