Hello CalNet Developers,

As was announced on October 18, the CalNet teams has released v2 of the
CalNet Directory Service. We are very excited about this new service,
and we want you to be just as excited.

So, as an incentive to you -- the developers -- to get your applications
converted, we will be holding a drawing for 3 MP3 players to the group
of developers who convert their applications by January 31, 2007. Note:
The contest is not based on your application or its complexity, it is
merely a random drawing of all eligible developers that have converted
their applications.

Here are the rules for the CalNet Challenge:

1) You must have an existing application that accesses
caldir.berkeley.edu via a CalNet-issued privileged bind. This
application must be converted to CalNet v2 (ldap.berkeley.edu) by
January 31, 2007, and the CalNet team needs to verify that your bind is
indeed being used on the v2 system.

2) Only one entry per developer. This means that if you have 5
applications, you do not get 5 entries if you convert all 5
applications. Likewise, if you convert just one of your applications,
that counts. If more than one developer works on the same application,
you can either enter as individuals or as a group -- it is up to you.

3) IST staff are not eligible. Sorry ISTers, but you don't need an
incentive to convert your applications!

4) You need to inform us of your conversion before January 31, 2007.

To the 3 lucky winners of the drawing, you get to pick between either a
30GB iPod or a 30GB Creative Zen. We will have the drawing at a public
meeting some time in February (we will email details about the meeting
in January).

Looking forward to hearing from you all. :-)
