Recommendations for audio software/hardware for reel-to-reel recordings

Hi all:

One of my users in our library asked me if I could recommend any
software and hardware to transfer and clean-up audio from
reel-to-reel tape recordings to a computer. I didn't know of any,
but I figured someone out there would know. Thanks.
