Hello....

I am a staff computing support technician at the Haas School of
Business, and I am trying to connect one of our very few Mac users to a
printer being shared from a Windows XP PC. The user is running Mac OS
10.3. I've been trying to accomplish this based on the steps below...

1. Go to Print/Fax menu
2. Click Set Up Printers
3. Click Add while pressing ALT
4. Select Windows printer via Samba
5. Under Device URI, enter:
smb://username:password_at_xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/printer_name

After doing this, I get an error saying NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE.

The firewall on the Windows PC has been configured for printer sharing
and the user trying to access the printer has correct permissions.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Scott Miramontes
