Hi Greg, ironically, I have a G5 desktop running 10.3 server with a
degraded RAID configuration. I noticed it last week. Have you seen
the Apple document that explains how to rebind disks:

Aron Roberts pointed it out. He had the same problem a year ago:

I have a feeling the disks in my machine have been degraded for a
while - perhaps as long as a month. It's been real slow especially
when using the GUI.
