Your experience with this one product sounds frustrating. But throwing out
the above statement on a listserve feels to me the equivelant of saying "I
will never buy a GM car again". My reaction is... so many products,
dealerships, service centers.
My experience with Xerox:
I just started a lease of my first Xerox product in... well I can't remember
the last time. It's a WorkCenter 255 copier/printer/fax. Works great. Per
page cost is less than my previous HP Laserjet. About 150,000 printed
pages, 50,000 copies. Service has been very responsive (needed once for a
paper jamming that I couldn't clear, a second time for a cosmetic issue that
I felt should be clear up). Could have got the color option too, but
decided we didn't "need" it enough. I like the ability to use the copier
features for any of my print jobs - collating, double-sided, stapling.
