Thanks, Roy.
Our problem is that for one of our projects we have to log onto a
website and check out files, make corrections and then upload the
files for all to see. So the downloading goes well, and then when we
try to save and upload, that is when we get the message about the
length of the name. If we try to change the name to a shorter
version, then the server does not recognize the file and creates a
new file on the website. And that is obviously a problem.

Aaron Roberts sent some links, but I haven't had time to look at those yet.
