We've used CJ Laser (654 14TH St Oakland, CA 94612-1243
(510) 832-2828). I don't know what his official insurance
status is but he has come on campus many times to do
work for me. He will give you an estimate before doing
work.
We also have a bunch of HP 4000s and have also noticed that they
are very expensive to repair. In fact, we're trying out the
Brother 5170DN because a new one is less expensive than
the repair on a HP 4000. So far, the Brother is working fine.
